Straatman B.V. brought on AutomationBuzz, led by Boban Sarvanoski, as Lead Automation Engineer to help with every stage of the project. I was involved from the initial concept and research to development, testing, and final delivery, working closely with Straatman to design and implement an automation solution for the hooks.

Type of machine: System consisting of 8 groups of quick release hooks. Each group has 3 – 4 hooks each with its own release mechanism and separate load measurement sensors. Each hook group is controlled by a standalone PLC and together they are all controlled by one main PLC with HMI placed in the control room

Purpose of the machine: The system is used for mooring big LNG transporting ships.
 

Key technologies:

•  Codesys 3.5 using ST programming language.
•  Ethernet, RS485 modbus communication
•  Jmobile SCADA  + HMI development
•  Git and Bitbucket to keep and maintain a proper code versioning control
